Fixed Asset Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a Fixed Asset Sr. Accountant to join our team in Deer Park, Texas. In this dynamic Contract to permanent role, you will play a critical part in managing fixed assets, overseeing general ledger processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers a hybrid schedule following an initial probationary period, providing an excellent opportunity for growth and development. Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries to support the monthly general ledger close process. • Reconcile various general ledger accounts, including bank statements, intercompany balances, accruals, and prepaids. • Review and approve month-end financial reports using the Atlas Copco reporting system. • Handle bank wires, organizational payments, and internal bank requests with precision and timeliness. • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements. • Post monthly payroll transactions and manage payroll approvals through internal banking systems. • Act as a key liaison during internal and external audits by addressing auditor inquiries and providing necessary documentation. • Maintain comprehensive fixed asset records, ensuring accurate capitalization and depreciation in line with company policy. • Conduct variance analyses and deliver insightful commentary to management for informed decision-making. • Support process improvement initiatives, automation projects, and system implementations to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements • Strong experience with month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Proficiency in journal entries and account reconciliation, including bank reconciliations. • Expertise in fixed asset accounting, including capitalization and depreciation. • Familiarity with SAP HANA and other accounting systems. • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments such as Purchasing, HR, and Operations. • Knowledge of financial reporting requirements and compliance with corporate accounting policies. • Previous experience working with internal and external audits. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform variance analysis and provide actionable feedback.
