YOUR ROLE
As Fix Asset Manager on our team, you will: Responsible for monitoring the fixed asset lifecycle, from the capital project request to the destruction and retirement of equipment, as well as ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and requirements. He/she acts as the liaison between the sites or plants in the US, Mexico, and Honduras. His/her work involves servicing and supervising the execution of tasks necessary for the correct recording of Aptiv's fixed assets, their wear and tear or depreciation, and their corresponding accounting reconciliations. He/she also oversees the creation of project and work orders. His/her role as a manager includes taking inventories and monitoring the follow-up of findings and accounting records. His/her involvement as a key player in both internal and external audits provides required documentation and explanations of the area's processes, reconciliations, account variations, additions, deletions, transfers, and sales of assets, to name a few. He/she also acts as the primary contact for the information required to calculate insurance premiums for asset protection at the sites in Mexico.
In your daily job you will:
Monthly review of capitalizations, provisions, and policies for the US, Mexico, and Honduras sites.
Monthly closing process for all three countries, depreciation run, and review of the cleanup of work order defaults for the companies in Mexico and Honduras.
Settlement run for work orders so that the balances are reflected in the company's expenses.
Monthly monitoring of the CWIP (projects in process) for items older than 180 days, as well as their appropriate escalation.
Approval of the B-10 policy for the companies in Mexico.
Validation of asset transfers or sales.
Policy creation, posting, and reporting to charge Luxembourg for equipment under 1290 and 2800 related to AMMS regarding depreciation, acquisitions, and disposals.
Validation of project openings for capital, tooling, and expenses to ensure compliance with the correct classification for the type of equipment purchased.
Review and follow-up of adjustments related to inventory taking (floor vs. book reconciliations)
Monitoring the submission of fixed asset labels once they are capitalized
Review and signature of purchase requisitions charged to projects by plant for the US, Honduras, and Mexico.
Monthly review of the Fiscal Depreciation calculation for submission of the schedules with said calculations to the Tax Department.
Provide information for the calculation of the comprehensive premium for the Risk Management group for US companies, review invoices, and distribute policies and payment vouchers to the sites.
n. Support and follow-up on requests from internal and external auditors (EY, SOX, Deloitte)
Scheduling monthly meetings with plant leaders to review equipment and its correct location.
Support to sites for advice on useful life, classification,
Preparation, calculation, and annual analysis of impairment calculations for Aptiv-owned plants, as well as reviews with the External Auditors and, if necessary, requesting additional information from the plants (impairment questionnaires).
Calculation and preparation of annual fixed asset deferred tax files for the tax department.
Explaining variances between fixed asset, accumulated depreciation, and work-in-progress account balances.
Review and preparation of information for the Notes to the Financial Statements requested by the GL group.
Monthly updating of metrics with information on capital spending, CWIP balance, and aging of items.
Preparation of the CAPEX report (743) for submission to the Treasury.
Attend to and/or support any training or requirements from the plants and our contacts in the different areas (Taxes, Customs, Plant Finance, Engineering, and Maintenance)
Supervise the work and develop the AF group with the necessary support.
Annual review and update of fixed asset processes for SOX and EOS compliance.
Manage fleet vehicles at the plants in Mexico.
