CEIS | Clover Leaf Solutions is hiring a Manufacturing Manager 3 (First Line Manager) to support the Process Equipment Maintenance & Decontamination Services (PMDS) group at a high-hazard DOE nuclear facility. This leader will play a critical role in overseeing maintenance and decontamination activities for plutonium process equipment, ensuring strict compliance with Conduct of Engineering (CoE), Conduct of Maintenance (CoM), and Conduct of Operations (CoO) protocols.
The selected candidate will drive the safe, secure, and timely execution of programmatic work across maintenance, installation, and decontamination activities within nuclear operating environments, while providing strategic leadership, daily oversight, and technical mentorship.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise a team of Fissionable Material Handlers (FMH) and technicians conducting maintenance on glovebox and nuclear process equipment.
Plan and manage scope, budget, schedule, and work packages aligned with ALDWP programmatic milestones and PMDS deliverables.
Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, hazard mitigation (ISSM), and compliance with 10 CFR 830/835.
Serve as safety accountable manager over personnel, equipment, and processes—ensuring high standards in worker qualification, conduct of work, and facility interface.
Engage directly with operations teams, regulators, and mission stakeholders to communicate work status, performance, and emerging risks.
Support readiness reviews, classified matter protocols, cyber initiatives, and integration of security postures.
Provide financial stewardship over procurement, labor tracking, travel, and project property.
Monitor and enforce adherence to safety, quality, and security protocols with active performance management, coaching, and accountability.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in technical leadership within a DOE nuclear facility, manufacturing, or process maintenance environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of work planning and control, nuclear facility authorization basis, and Conduct of Operations.
Experience supervising field personnel, directing FMH work, and coordinating across multiple technical disciplines.
Strong background in safety culture, job hazard analysis, integrated safety/security management, and compliance oversight.
Proven success managing scope, schedule, and budget in high-consequence environments.
Must meet DOE 426.2 education and experience requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain FMH and GBO certifications.
Preferred QualificationsActive DOE Q Clearance.
Experience supporting PF-4 missions and maintaining infrastructure in plutonium or nuclear material handling environments.
Familiarity with IWM, ISSM, MC&A, cyber and classified matter controls.
Demonstrated ability to drive safety culture and lead operational teams through complexity and change.
Work ConditionsThis is a full-time onsite role in Los Alamos, NM.
May require shift or weekend work. Eligible for shift differential.
Position requires physical ability to climb stairs/ladders, lift 30+ lbs, and wear PPE including respirators.
Exposure to ionizing radiation and industrial hazards typical of nuclear facility operations.
