Emerson is looking for a Firmware Test Engineering Co-op for Spring or Fall 2026 to join our Marshalltown, IA team. This is an outstanding chance to gain real-world experience in a collaborative environment while working on projects that will truly make a difference. This position is a temporary 8-month co-op assignment from January 2026-August 2026 or May 2026-December 2026.    In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Engage firmware team to interpret upstream requirements to design, document, and implement supporting validations  Perform project and product documentation in accordance to departmental and company procedures and standards  Collaborate with other members of the project team to deliver features that are implemented, tested, and documented  Design, assemble, and maintain test fixtures  Who You Are: You balance planning with actions. You solicit both input and discussion. You focus on priorities and set stretch goals For This Role, You Will Need: Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university Major(s): Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering  Ability to effectively work in a team environment  Ability to understand basic mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems  Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills  Programming experience in C#, C++, or similar object-oriented programming languages  Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Knowledge of common software test methods  Familiarity with continuous integration tools (TeamCity, Jenkins)  Experience with distributed version control  Experience with ARM embedded processor platforms  Commitment to full-time (40 hour) Spring (Jan 2026- August 2026) or Fall (May 2026- December 2026) Co-op experience in Marshalltown, IA.  Legal authorization to work in the United States.
