Job Title: Firmware Engineer

Job Description

Join our leading team of innovators in the power solutions industry, specializing in designing and manufacturing high-quality power supplies. As a Firmware Engineer, you will ensure firmware programming aligns with customer demands and internal development projects. Collaborate closely with electrical engineers to develop and maintain cutting-edge converters and inverters.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop new firmware to support existing designs.Create testbeds to validate and debug firmware designs.Manage projects using ISO9001:2015 / AS9100:2016 processes.Analyze problems and troubleshoot issues to provide failure analysis.Communicate with customers to provide technical support.Manage and document firmware revisions.Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of the latest embedded trends.Collaborate with the team on overall power electronics hardware designs.Create technical reports and presentations for the team or customers.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience with Microchip and Texas Instruments microcontrollers.Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages for bare-metal embedded applications.Experience with Linux operating systems.Familiarity with RS232, RS485, and CANBus 2.0 for asynchronous serial communication.Knowledge of I2C and SPI for synchronous serial communication.Experience with Ethernet communication.Strong ability to understand engineering documents and schematics.Working knowledge of electronics laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, etc.).Excellent oral and written English communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office products for day-to-day computing.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with PCAD or Altium.Training in power electronics.Knowledge of asynchronous event processing.Understanding of digital filters and sampling theory.Experience with error detection and self-correction communication.High-speed interrupt-driven state machine design.Experience in processing and recovery of low signal-to-noise control signals.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.3 years of industry-related work experience.Work Environment

The role involves optimizing firmware for performance, reliability, and power efficiency, and staying up-to-date with industry trends. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Murphy, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56.00 - $72.00/hr.
