Job Description
The Embedded Firmware Engineer is a detail-oriented team player responsible for designing and developing firmware for professional-grade audio amplifiers and related accessories. Strong communication skills are essential, as the position involves collaboration with both internal and external members of the engineering development team. Responsibilities also include maintaining thorough documentation, tracking revision changes, and resolving firmware-related issues and bugs.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop embedded software, firmware, and hardware components for real-time systems, with a focus on audio signal processing and control.Develop and execute both manual and automated test procedures; perform in-depth analysis of test data and maintain comprehensive documentation of test outcomes.Utilize a range of laboratory instruments and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators to conduct integration, system-level, and functional validation testing.Diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues across firmware, software, and hardware interfaces.Lead firmware architecture and development initiatives; collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams to co-design and implement next-generation audio products.Author detailed firmware requirements, test specifications, technical documentation, and supporting materials, including reference guides and design overviews.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in C/C++ development.Experience with STM 32 - ST microprocessors (absolute must).Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to objectively assess feature functionality.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Linux.Audio experience.Knowledge of DSP (Digital Signal Processing).Work Environment
The engineer will work closely with a team of six engineers. For those with a commute over 45 minutes, a hybrid work arrangement is available, allowing for remote work two days a week.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
