Temp-to-Hire position$25.20 to $27.20 /hourFull Time work availableWeekend work requiredSecond Shift (Tuesday through Sunday from 01:00pm to 01:00am)Monitor hot work areas (welding, grinding, cutting) for fire hazardsWater down critical areas to prevent ignition of sawdust or other combustible materialsClear or shield flammable materials before work beginsRemain on site during and after hot work to watch for fire risksMaintain fire safety tools and report issues to supervisorsClean basement areas of dust and debris during production (without entering active zones)Clean upstairs areas during breaks, focusing on drive chains and chain returnsAfter each shift, thoroughly clean equipment zones (Barker, Head Rig, Edger, Trimmer, Resaw)Ensure all wood debris is cleared and placed on conveyors before shift endFire Watch Qualifications:
Basic understanding of sawmill operations and safety protocolsAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsReliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or in a teamWillingness to work overtime or flexible shifts if neededComfortable working in a noisy, dusty, and physically demanding environmentApplicant may be subject to a background checkPre-employment drug screen (Excluding THC) is required as a condition of employment*A conviction record will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.
