The role 

We are seeking motivated people to join our WA Fire Suppression team. This is a great opportunity for those looking to enter the mining industry while working on state-of-the-art fire suppression systems across Perth Metro, the Goldfields, Pilbara, and beyond.  

 

As a Fire Suppression Technician you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and diagnosing fire suppression systems on mining equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Based in Perth’s workshop, you will also travel to remote sites as required to support local contracts.  

 

This position operates on a Monday–Friday roster, with typical workweeks ranging from 40 to 50 hours, and additional loading applicable for weekend and remote travel. Sandvik provides on the job in house train for certification including Gold Card / Green Card which allow you to service and install OEM systems. 

 

Areas of responsibility 

Perform fault diagnosis, maintain, and install Fire Suppression systems 

Maintain inspection test reports and documentation 

Adhere to all policies & procedures especially the EHS policies 

Work effectively either in a team environment or autonomously 

Assist with machine audits/inspections on mobile AFFF Inspections 

 

Your profile 

Valid Driver’s License (compulsory) 

Mechanical Trade experience an advantage 

Service experience of Mobile Fire Suppression systems will be a distinct advantage 

Strong customer service and communication skills 

Flexible to work with customer requirements, procedures, and safety policies 

Positive attitude and a high attention to detail
