Role Purpose:
A vacancy has arisen for a practical individual to work as a Mobile Fire Door AP. The Mobile Fire Door AP will also need to be self-motivating. They will be responsible for carrying out reactive, PPM, remedial and installation works across the south of England in commercial premises and will also be required to liaise and coordinate works with our approved contractors. A good understanding of Fire Door Services, being well presented at all times and competent to provide technical advice when required to do so.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To carry out reactive maintenance repairs across various contracts.To assess and order parts and equipment necessary for individual tasks.To work to recognised industry standards at all times.To participate in flexible working hours and out-of-hours emergency cover as required by the contract.To undertake training as required to perform the duties of the role, including health and safety courses and further trade development, to maintain current knowledge and professional qualifications (Continued Professional Development).To undertake BM Trada training (supplied by us) to fulfil the role of an APTo quality assure inspection documentation, sign off remedial works carried out by other operatives and sign off installation worksBuild quotes off the back of the inspection reportsMust be able to read and understand fire strategy plans and fire risk assessmentsBe able to work remotely from a laptop to fulfill AP dutiesBe able to provide support and guidance to other technicians in a supervisory capacityTo work with the lead contract support and CEC to ensure works are completed on time and quotes submitted in a quick and efficient mannerEnsure engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise efficient operation and reliability of plantTo ensure company QA and site procedures are adhered to in all aspectsTo ensure that both Client and Integral’s Health and Safety procedures are followed at all timesTo inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with call outs/repairs as required and/or requested by managementKeep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and working conditionTo undertake any other duties as directed by Managers within the remit of the roleProvide detailed and accurate reports for any remedial works required whilst attending siteUpdating of on-site log books for compliance purposes Complete on site Method Statements and Risk Assessments as necessaryThis job description sets out the main duties of the post at the date it was completed. Trade Background & Qualifications (recognised qualification or apprenticeship)Level 3 City & Guilds in carpentry and joinery or equivalent qualificationsExtensive Knowledge in building fabric servicesExtensive Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations. Must be available for call outsGood written and verbal communication skillsAble to work from a smartphone and PDAHave good knowledge of laptops and IT systemsComfortable working within a team environment. Able to contribute to teams success whilst willingly following instructionsThe incumbent will be required to adopt a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the public sector. This will require work at weekends and in the evenings. The salary has been set to reflect this.
