**Role Profile**
As a key member of the FinOps team you will be responsible for advancing the introduction and development of FinOps principles, frameworks, and processes into ADM and providing FinOps support to the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and Infrastructure Operations teams.
This could be through the creation of strategies, roadmaps, processes or deep analysis of cloud spending and subsequent execution of cloud spend reduction/mitigation activities. You will also be providing subject matter expert (SME) level support to the Operations teams and wider Engineering and Architecture teams.
The role will suit an individual who enjoys working collaboratively with both technical and business teams to create holistic solutions incorporating a wide range of systems and technologies, and who is able to bring creativity to the solutioning process.
You will work closely with other Engineers and Architects who have specialized skills while cross-training within ADM’s core technologies. Both they and you, will be constantly learning from each other.
**General Role Responsibilities**
+ Create innovative FinOps solutions and designs within defined standards, or proposing new standards when required, ensuring that designs work holistically within larger solutions.
+ In close collaboration with cross functional architecture teams, develop strategies and roadmaps which support the introduction and continuous improvement of FinOps.
+ Work closely with the other Tech Ops teams to identify, test, and implement FinOps monitoring and automation tools across the infrastructure platforms and estate.
+ Maintain a good awareness of Operations and Project activities through regular communication with operations & project leads and by attending update meetings.
+ Deliver visibility at the beginning (Ideation) of Projects and throughout the lifecycle of projects to inform and provide FinOps cost governance to project leads, architects and engineers.
+ Undertake requirements analysis of incoming requests ensuring deliverables are clearly understood and agreed with stakeholders.
+ Proactively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes and propose improvement activities.
+ Liaise with 3rd. party vendors when appropriate to create new solutions and continuous improvement proposals.
+ Collaborate with Architects to propose, review and implement new standards and technologies.
+ Carry out continuous personal development, ensuring technical skills are kept up to date and non-technical skills are gained and improved.
+ Develop a base cross functional technical knowledge allowing holistic thinking during design processes.
+ Carry out technical reviews of change requests and designs created by other teams.
+ Work closely with the CCoE, gathering, understanding, and implementing wider objectives of the CCoE and ensuring they are fully aware of FinOps activities
**Specific Role Responsibilities**
+ Identify and resize oversized VMs to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
+ Utilize reserved instances and savings plans to achieve cost savings.
+ Implement and track the effectiveness of various cost-saving measures across the cloud environment.
+ Establish and enforce governance policies and controls to mitigate future cloud spend and ensure compliance.
+ Develop and implement guardrails to prevent unnecessary resource allocation and ensure efficient use of cloud resources.
+ Monitor compliance with established policies and take corrective actions as needed.
+ Assist the implementation and manage a tagging management solution to automate and correct tags, ensuring accurate cost allocation.
+ Assist in the selection and implementation of a cloud financial management tool (e.g., Flexera, Apptio) to enable deep dive analysis and chargeback capabilities.
+ Identify opportunities for automation to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
+ Implement Azure policies to prevent duplicate tags and ensure accurate tagging.
+ Support the development of a show back model to allocate costs to business units based on usage.
+ Establish high-level policies to control resource allocation and costs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
**Role Requirements**
**Essential**
+ 7 years of implementing and developing cloud platforms, including provisioning, engineering and administration activities, in particular Azure.
+ Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in a FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or cloud financial management role.
+ Deep understanding of FinOps Principles and practices, supported by FinOps Practitioner/Engineer certification (or equivalent proven experience)
+ Knowledge and experience with the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS)
+ Proven track record of analysing cloud usage patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities, and implementing cost reduction measures without compromising performance and availability.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to build understanding and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Experience using native cloud cost management tools (specifically Azure Cost Management and Billing)
+ Hands on experience of implementing and managing Cloud Financial Management tools such as Apptio, Flexera.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft and Azure API’s and working with Engineers to develop integrations with FinOps tooling.
+ Strong data analytics and data visualization skills including experience writing SQL queries and developing dashboards in PowerBI
+ Experience in building self-service tooling for cloud spend visibility and governance.
+ A broad knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure systems and technologies

+ Experience of holistic infrastructure engineering solutions comprising multiple elements including

+ Ability to carry out requirements analysis and create detailed FinOps solution designs
+ Experience in providing engineering expertise to Operations teams in support of incident and request resolution

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
