Job DescriptionAvery Dennison is hiring a Finishing Process Manager for our Greenfield Facility! In this role, you will be responsible for the leadership and the execution of key business strategies. This role will report to the Finishing Business Unit Manager, with a dotted line to the Finishing Process Manager. The role will have an exempt level. The Finishing Process Manager will lead our Finishing team and focus on improving performance for all Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, Cost. This role will have a very flexible work schedule to ensure performance standards are being met on all shifts.
In your role as Finishing Process Manager delivering on these responsibilities is critical to success:
Develop Strategic Improvement Plans for each operating cell in the department. This role is to improve the human choreography associated with running Finishing equipment. This work will affect but not be limited to safety, workmanship, quality, productivity and other process improvement.
Provide active support for ongoing, and identified, Project Toro initiatives.
Provide leadership for continuous improvement activities, including Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) and Six Sigma, resulting in continuous progress against the Avery Dennison ELS Global Standards. Measure performance of teams against performance targets and provide feedback.
Manage standard PTP/Changeover requirements for all slitters/Rewinders.
Set clear expectations and hold front line leaders accountable for results. Actively train, motivate, coach, and develop team members.
Collaborate with the process team, maintenance, engineering, ELS, or other functions within the facility to improve safety, workmanship, quality, productivity and other choreography improvement.
Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Responsibilities Include
Manage the overall department strategy OGSM.
Track metrics for department
Manage the Changeover process for all slitting assets to hold our teams to the standards set forth.
Address employee concerns that escalate.
QualificationsEducation:
Technical Degree or related field preferred. Demonstrated Operations Leadership experience and capability in lieu of degree may be considered.
Experience:
5+ years in a progressive leadership role within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Other:
Demonstrated success in using credibility and influence to lead both managers and individuals.
Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies and the ability to integrate those into the operation.
Excellent people skills with the ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely and concise manner. Must have strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
Must be a change leader: ability to adapt, assimilate, initiate, support and reinforce change among the teams.
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with the ability to achieve results independently and through others.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a bias toward action.
High level of proficiency with information systems and manufacturing applications. Experience with business computer software systems such as MS or Google Suite, Oracle or other ERPs.
Ability and willingness to adjust schedule to support three-shift operations.
Black Belt or Green Belt Certification preferred.
