We're looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Finishing Packer to join our 1st shift team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring our products are impeccably prepared for shipment, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. You'll work closely with machine operators and other team members to support a smooth and productive operation.
What You'll Do:
Quality Control & Packaging:Inspect the general appearance of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.Sort, label, and package finished goods according to customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices.Track multiple orders simultaneously to ensure accurate packing.Material Handling & Preparation:Prepare cores for machine operators, including cutting 3" and 6" cores for all slitters.Retrieve, replenish, and deliver cores, verifying their accuracy, quality of cuts, and adequate quantity for production.Keep the work area supplied with necessary packaging materials.Move materials to and from raw, WIP, finishing, shipping, receiving, and manufacturing areas.Complete transactions to document material movement within the Inventory Management System.Warehouse & Inventory Support:Support inventory accuracy through warehouse and departmental cycle counts and discrepancy correction.Help manage winding drum and rack inventories.Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies.Condense warehouse space and maintain excellent housekeeping.Operational Excellence & Teamwork:Actively participate in group problem-solving teams and continuous improvement activities.Perform 5S duties and audits to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.Communicate and coordinate necessary information with appropriate shift/department personnel for effective operations.Print slitting diagrams.Safety & Cleanliness:Perform all duties in a safe manner, following standard procedures and practices.Encourage others to follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions immediately.Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.Perform forklift inspections.Operate trim compactor controls.Empty blue bins and recyclables daily.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.Previous manufacturing experience preferred You will regard safety as a core value; serve as a role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures. You will need to have strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root causes, then communicate / education team in a timely manner.
