Financial Systems (Developer IV)
Job Description:

The Developer IV will be responsible for leading technical efforts in the design, development, support, and implementation of quality application systems to achieve the business goals set forth by Wheels. Provide recommendations for application and system improvements. Analyze and troubleshoot software problems and provide alternative solutions to address those problems.

We seek a Financial Systems Developer to build, enhance, and maintain accounting and financial management systems. The ideal candidate will have software development skills combined with a basic understanding of financial processes, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Prioritize, assign, coordinate, and review work activities of Cobol / RPG programming personnel to ensure business needs and goals are metParticipate in scrum project activities with Web Development teams(s)Works with business users to understand business requirements, issues and business processes.Develop, test, maintain and support business application programs to meet the requirements of the business while adhering to departmental standardsPerform quality assurance testing for all programs, created or modified, plus any other applications affectedAnalyzes production applications to isolate problems or determine more efficient methods.Research and implements problem resolutions in a timely and effective mannerMaintains current knowledge of standard languages and coding methodsSuggests enhancements to departmental standards as needed

Other Duties:

Acts as a technical team leader on projects, coordinating application development / modification efforts from design through implementationDocuments technical requirements and creates technical designs for self and others based on business requirementsEnsure the quality of software implemented by the team meets the quality standards of WheelsProvide project and system documentation per department standardsInstruct, coach and mentor other team members to meet business goals and expected deliverablesResponds to on-call emergencies pertaining to recent application/module enhancements as neededOther duties and responsibilities as assignedDevelop and maintain software solutions for billing, payments, and financial reconciliationWork on API integrations with banking services, tax compliance platforms, and ERP solutionsFamiliarity with accounting principles (GL, AP, AR, accruals, financial statements)Being a Certified Public Accountant is a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BS/BA in Computer science, Business Information Systems, or Business Administration with a computer-related minor or commensurate professional experienceMinimum 10 years’ experience in a professional environment with significant emphasis on application development / data managementExcellent communication (verbal, written) and project management skills, strong analytical thought process with proven programming skills in Cobol or RPG and an aptitude to learn quickly

Pay Range:

$113,400-$158,800

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
