This position provides strategic support to Thrivent’s financial advisors in delivery of the financial planning process. The Financial Planner is a collaborative role. Leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to drive financial planning and advice at scale, this position requires a thorough understanding of financial planning in-depth level of knowledge of the planning process, advisor business models, advisor technology, and the utilizations of a broad array of product solutions.
This can be a remote position within the US.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares customized financial plans in a manner that is tailored to the needs of the clientsUtilizing input from the Advisor or Practice, prepares customized financial plan that incorporates client information and is consistent with client values and goals.Interpret client financial statements and advisor meeting notes to prepare client dataEnter relevant client data into the financial planning softwareUse the financial planning software to create initial financial summary reportsEnsure accuracy of data and language within planning documents by utilizing internal checklists and templates when applicableDevelops high quality, accurate, attractive, and professional reports and presentations that reflect and incorporate Thrivent's financial planning philosophy and principles into the client recommendations.Exhibits technical knowledge and competency in key financial planning areas, including cash flow planning, tax and charitable gift planning, education funding, debt management, retirement, insurance, and estate planning.Adept at utilizing key advice tools and technology, including planning software deployed within the Division.Provides cash flow analysis including bonus payments and stock option planning.Assesses gifting opportunities of cash, securities, or other property.Assists with tax planning to estimate tax withholding settings or quarterly tax payments, plans for cash, securities or other property gifting opportunities, bonus payments, and stock option planning.Prepares recommendations for clients utilizing planning expertise and knowledge of client’s goals and circumstances integrating financial recommendations in a manner consistent with Thrivent's financial planning philosophy.This role will also involve heavy communication with Financial Advisors when it comes to collecting data and input for iterating on contentQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business or finance5+ years of financial planning or sales support experience. Financial services advanced designations CFP & RICP required.Financial services advanced designations (i.e. FIC, CLU, ChFC, etc.) preferred.FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 requiredLife insurance and Health Insurance licensesA demonstrated ability and commitment to goals-based planning and advice.Experience with MoneyGuidePro or similar planning softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation, development and deliveryAbility to manage multi-task and strong attention to detailStrong relationship building skillsEstablished verbal and written communication skills.Preferred:
