What you’ll do

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Crimes professional to assemble and manage the governance framework, control testing, and management information reporting for our new MALPB. In this role, you will be a key individual contributor to the Financial Crimes team, reporting directly to the MALPB’s Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) Officer (aka, the MALPB’s Financial Crimes Officer). Your primary responsibility will be to provide oversight of the program’s operational integrity and test the effectiveness of key controls to support the MALPB's mission.

Responsibilities Control Testing & Vertical Reviews: Design and execute a program of vertical reviews to test the effectiveness of financial crimes controls. You will conduct end-to-end testing of specific processes within a single business unit, such as customer onboarding, sanctions screening, or transaction monitoring. Your responsibilities will include developing testing scripts, documenting findings, and reporting on the results of these deep-dive reviews to management. Program Governance: You will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the financial crimes program's operational health. This includes ensuring all training requirements are met, tracking the remediation of internal audit and regulatory exam findings, and serving as a key liaison to other Stripe Financial Crimes teams to ensure consistency and collaboration in shared services. You will act as the specialist who ensures financial crimes shared services meet the MALPB’s specific regulatory and other needs. Management Information Reporting: Coordinating the design, generation, and presentation of key management reports to the BSA/AML Officer and other senior leaders. These reports will provide critical insights into the MALPB's risk profile and performance, detailing new account onboarding, portfolio composition, suspicious activity reporting, and other key risk indicators. You will also be responsible for communicating program health, key metrics, and risk-related trends to the Board and management on a regular basis. You will partner with data analytics and other teams to produce these reports. Who you are
