Job Title: Financial Controller

Department: Henry Schein Dental Finance

Reports To: Senior Manager: Financial Reporting

Dimension: Full time

Location: UK – Hybrid (2 days a week in the office)

Overview:

The postholder is responsible for managing internal and external audits, SOX compliance, monthly and quarterly consolidation and annual statutory accounts preparation, in addition to ensuring monthly reporting to the US in accordance with US GAAP and meeting reporting deadlines.

The postholder will also be the direct line manager for 3 Financial Accountants.

Job Responsibilities:

The role holder will be expected to be responsible for:

Monthly reporting

Consolidation of balance sheet for UK groupBalance sheet reporting on the Group reporting tool (HFM)Intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, working with other countries’ finance teams and US Corporate Accounting teamReview of balance sheet account reconciliations and assisting team members to resolve long outstanding queries.Ensure balance sheet issues are reported to the Senior Manager: Financial Reporting and CFO in a timely manner and participating in quarterly detailed balance sheet reviewsAssess technical accounting matters as they arise and implementation of new accounting standards, with proposal to CFO and Senior Manager: Financial ReportingEnsure compliance with Group accounting policiesAnnual reportingPreparation and review of consolidation and statutory accountsLiaise with BDO on audit matters and ensuring timely responses to all audit requests and limiting overrunsBudget balance sheet reporting

Ad hoc tasks

Key part of the team to ensure correct accounting treatment for acquisitions/divestitures and reporting correctly in accordance with US and UK GAAPSupport CFO and Senior Manager: Financial Reporting in ad hoc projects/tasks, as requiredCompany secretarial dutiesSupport Finance team with closing out of any Internal Audit matters

Job Skills & Experience Required:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following:

Qualifications:

ACA or similar accounting qualificationDegree or equivalent in a related business disciplineSkill & Experience:Experience of financial reporting, UK GAAP, external audits and internal controls (+2 years PQE)Good written communication skills, coordination and planning, multi-tasking, collaborative.Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS.Experience in a multinational corporationAdvanced in use of Microsoft Excel including vast knowledge of functionsJDE knowledge an advantage
