ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Financial Coach for our Cincinnati market to implement financial services and Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) components of our Community Impact services. This exempt position reports to the Senior Community Impact Manager and plays a crucial role in providing individual supportive services, financial coaching, and program management of the FSS Program across all POAH Communities Cincinnati sites. The successful candidate will empower residents through personalized financial guidance, helping them achieve economic stability and build long-term assets.
ABOUT YOUR IMPACT   Manage the Family Self-Sufficiency Program at identified POAH Communities sites, including participant recruitment, orientation, financial coaching and required reporting Provide personalized financial coaching across key areas: income growth, credit building, debt management, savings, and long-term asset building Conduct assessments of resident goals and financial situations to develop actionable plans to achieve goals and build assets Deliver professional, accessible, and non-judgmental financial guidance and education workshops Support residents to successfully interact with financial institutions, service providers, and other community resources Facilitate Individual Training and Services Plans (ITSP) and Contracts of Participation (COP) for FSS participants Support POAH Communities Accounting with escrow account management activities, including eligibility verification, enrollment, escrow credit calculation, and disbursement processes Complete all required reporting for HUD and other funding sources, including quarterly FSS reports and participant success stories Work closely with the Community Impact team to support residents in maintaining stable housing through financial empowerment, goal achievement, and targeted financial coaching Maintain appropriate data in company databases including PI, Salesforce and other program-specific tracking systems Strive to constantly elevate the standard of coaching through continuous improvement and participate in ongoing training and professional development
  ABOUT YOU
Required: 3-5 years of experience in financial education, financial services, workforce development, and/or other related areas Solid verbal, written and customer service communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines Ability to identify challenges, formulate solutions, and implement changes by drawing on expertise and input from others Basic proficiency in the use of computers including Word, Outlook, Excel, and database management systems Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods Ability to work periodic overtime and flexible hours required, including weekends and evenings Local travel within the Cincinnati metropolitan area required
Preferred: Experience with Family Self-Sufficiency or similar HUD programs Prior experience working with communities and families with low income Prior experience providing coaching, counseling, or mentoring Experience working with government and performance-based contracts Understanding of affordable housing regulations and resident services delivery Familiarity with Cincinnati community resources and service providers Ability to motivate individuals and groups to actively participate and take leadership roles in efforts to improve the community and increase self-determination
