The department also handles the procurement of all research animals at BU as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory organizations. Acronyms: ASC-Animal Science Center, PI- Primary Investigator, BSL Level- Bio Safety Level, IACUC- Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. This role falls into ASC's business office operations by handling responsibilities related to animal procurement processes and supplies. Because of the research occurring in our facilities, this role also handles facility security access for researchers in differing BSL Levels.
