Job Summary

We are looking for a highly analytical, detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Finance team. In this high-visibility role, you will support total company financial consolidation and reporting across all of HD Supply. You’ll work with large, complex datasets from multiple business units, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and actionable insights that directly support executive decision-making.

This is a fast-paced, high-exposure position that requires strong technical skills, business curiosity, common sense, and a go-getter attitude. You’ll be presenting to leadership regularly and collaborating closely with FP&A, Accounting, and business unit stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport enterprise-level financial consolidation across all HD Supply business units, aligning with corporate standards for accuracy and consistency.Gather, validate, and normalize financial data from multiple internal systems and sources.Prepare and deliver consolidated reporting packages, variance analyses, and executive-level presentations as part of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.Analyze actuals vs. budget/forecast, identify and explain key performance drivers and trends.Maintain and continuously improve financial models, reporting tools, and documentation.Define and document data sources, assumptions, methodologies, and known limitations.Respond to ad hoc analysis and reporting requests with clarity and precision.Ask smart questions when numbers don’t align and take initiative to resolve discrepancies.Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Accounting, and business leadership to ensure reporting relevance and accuracy.Support strategic decisions by providing meaningful recommendations backed by data.

What Makes You a Great FitBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (required); Master’s or MBA a plus.2–5 years of progressive financial analysis, FP&A, or corporate finance experience.Experience with enterprise-level consolidation and reporting is a strong plus.Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Power BI, Hyperion, SAP, or similar systems preferred.Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Highly organized with sharp attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple deadlines.Strong interpersonal and presentation skills—you can communicate with clarity and confidence.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with shifting priorities.Naturally curious, resourceful, and eager to ask questions and challenge assumptions.Career-driven, open-minded, and ready to grow in a high-impact finance role.

Gather disparate data from various data sources; analyze and normalize to ensure data integrity for analysis. Provide consistent, relevant, and accurate data as well as guidance/knowledge of the data and definitions that are available for analysis.

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Serves as a resource to assigned client in area of expertise.Gathers and compiles raw data, conducts research for industry trends and benchmarks, and normalizes data to be incorporated into a centralized data format.Analyzes, reports, and makes comparisons to industry/company benchmarks. Determines trends and prepares cost analyses.Defines data definitions and documents data limitations.Prepares spreadsheets for data analysis. Prepares reports with charts and graphs, mailing lists, maps and ad hoc requests. May make presentations.Provides recommendations based on findings and analysis. Provides input on policies and procedures.Participates in department and interdepartmental projects.Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.

Work Environment

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.No travel required.

Education and Experience

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
