**Job Summary**
The Finance Analyst for CSBS plays a critical role in managing post-award financial operations for externally funded grants, overseeing program budgets, and supporting the financial needs of academic departments. This role ensures compliance with sponsor and university policies while providing analytical support and collaborative financial guidance across the College.
**Responsibilities**
**Post-Award Grant Management**
+ Oversee the financial administration of post-award grant activities, including expenditure review, budget monitoring, and timely reporting.
+ Ensure compliance with university, sponsor, and federal financial guidelines.
+ Collaborate with Principal Investigators (PIs) and departmental staff to review allowable costs, rebudgeting, and financial projections.
**Budget Oversight and Program Support**
+ Monitor and manage program-level budgets within CSBS , ensuring alignment with college financial goals.
+ Develop forecasts, variance analysis, and financial reports for academic and research units.
+ Support departments in annual budget planning and updates, advising on resource allocations and spending strategies.
**Financial Analysis and Reporting**
+ Prepare regular and ad-hoc financial reports, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for corrective action.
+ Provide detailed analysis for decision-making support, including salary projections, fund balances, and multi-year planning.
+ Reconcile financial transactions and resolve discrepancies in coordination with central finance units.
**Team and Departmental Collaboration**
+ Serve as a financial liaison to with OSP and Grants Accounting along with departments, centers, and administrative units within CSBS .
+ Work as part of a finance team to streamline financial operations and implement and sustain financial policies and best practices within CSBS operations.

**Minimum Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); plus two years of related experience. Also required are a thorough knowledge of established accounting principles and practices; spreadsheet and database skills; knowledge of statistics and demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relation and effective communication skills required.
An advanced degree, such as a Master’s of Business Administration, is preferred. Certain positions may require familiarity with hospital billing systems, Medicare and insurance reimbursement regulations, etc.
