Financial Analyst
Description We are looking for a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This Contract-to-permanent position involves providing in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making within a credit union environment. The role requires strong collaboration with both internal teams and external partners to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of financial processes. Responsibilities: • Manage recurring data needs for Finance and Accounting, including monthly and quarterly data loads for interest rate risk monitoring and reporting. • Maintain and oversee financial systems such as Concur, nCino, and Axiom to ensure operational efficiency. • Validate and review financial models to ensure compliance, identify weaknesses, and recommend improvements to mitigate risks. • Collaborate with external consultants to produce regulatory-compliant reports and analyses. • Develop and automate financial reporting processes using data warehouse systems and software expertise. • Conduct detailed financial analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, presenting findings to senior management. • Prepare accurate and timely month-end management and board reports, ensuring clarity and adherence to deadlines. • Support investment portfolio management by analyzing performance, overseeing reporting, and providing strategic recommendations. • Monitor liquidity positions and prepare projections for anticipated needs, delivering updates to senior management. • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and strategic planning. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, modeling, and reporting. • Proficiency in advanced analytics, data mining techniques, and building automated reports within data warehouse systems. • Strong knowledge of asset liability management and funds transfer pricing. • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with tools such as SAP, Concur, and Axiom. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to senior management. • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail. • Experience in financial planning, project planning, and forecasting models. • Knowledge of banking industry principles and regulatory compliance requirements.
