Position: Financial Analyst  

Job Description:

Forward Intermodal is seeking a Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in an Accounting or Finance role within a small or medium-sized company.  Experience in transportation services, distribution, or manufacturing is strongly desired.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

Perform General Ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely entries Manage monthly closing procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards Assist with the preparation and reporting of weekly business metrics Conduct detailed financial statement analysis to identify trends and variances Perform Yield Management and Margin Analysis to assess profitability Support the development and alignment of the Annual Operating Plan Contribute to the preparation of quarterly financial forecasts Review and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and operational efficiency Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing key data insights Collect and analyze financial data to support decision-making processes Assist in the reporting and presentation of weekly/monthly financial metrics to leadership Provide ongoing Yield Management and Margin Analysis support to the finance team Collaborate with the Accounting Department in executing the monthly close process Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

2+ years of accounting / finance experience OR valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certificate with at least one year of professional experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance CPA certification is desired Experience in transportation services, distribution, or manufacturing is preferred Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting concepts and experience in their application Highly organized, paying attention to detail Strong work ethic, high integrity Excellent communication skills Knowledge of reporting tools & other MIS tools Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
