Position: Financial Analyst Job Description: Forward Intermodal is seeking a Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in an Accounting or Finance role within a small or medium-sized company. Experience in transportation services, distribution, or manufacturing is strongly desired. Core Responsibilities & Duties: + Perform General Ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely entries + Manage monthly closing procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations + Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards + Assist with the preparation and reporting of weekly business metrics + Conduct detailed financial statement analysis to identify trends and variances + Perform Yield Management and Margin Analysis to assess profitability + Support the development and alignment of the Annual Operating Plan + Contribute to the preparation of quarterly financial forecasts + Review and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and operational efficiency + Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing key data insights + Collect and analyze financial data to support decision-making processes + Assist in the reporting and presentation of weekly/monthly financial metrics to leadership + Provide ongoing Yield Management and Margin Analysis support to the finance team + Collaborate with the Accounting Department in executing the monthly close process + Other duties as assigned Qualifications: + 2+ years of accounting / finance experience OR valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certificate with at least one year of professional experience + Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance + CPA certification is desired + Experience in transportation services, distribution, or manufacturing is preferred + Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting concepts and experience in their application + Highly organized, paying attention to detail + Strong work ethic, high integrity + Excellent communication skills + Knowledge of reporting tools & other MIS tools + Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel Skills: + The ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic + Interpersonal skills necessary to build effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization + Strong organization, prioritization, project management and consulting skill set + General computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, AS400 + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Forward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer.
