Financial Analyst

Basic Qualifications:

 

Minimum 2 years previous work experience in finance and/or accounting Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.   This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

Cost accounting experience Previous internal audit experience Experience working for a manufacturing company Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles MBA, CMA and / or CPA Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in both written and oral form Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills Experience with querying databases Excellent analytical skills
 

We are seeking a strong Financial Analyst with high energy and drive to join our Howmet Engines Systems Headquarters (HQ) Finance team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.   

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

Assist the Engines HQ Controller with forecasting and planning activities for the HQ cost centers Weekly monitoring of Engines HQ month-to-date activity and projections to identify opportunities or risks, allowing for countermeasures to be deployed. Support Engines HQ month-end closing activities, including coordination of closing entries and account reconciliations. Review Engines HQ monthly actual, forecast, and plan performance; understand deviations from both forecast and plan to provide insights and recommendations to senior management. Evaluate Engines HQ Capital project proposals and monitor ongoing spend Lead internal control processes and audit requirements for Engines HQ and support other Engines locations, as needed Track execution of cost savings projects and coordinate reporting. Lead process improvement projects to achieve world-class performance across Engines operations Analysis of plant spending and monitoring spend management systems. Financial analysis and process development for special projects, as required. Assistance with Peer Review activity across Howmet Engines, as required.
