Summary of Position:

This individual will be supporting CAE Civil’s FP&A community and will be a key contributor to the financial monthly forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, business performance tracking and special projects. S/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing executive presentations, financial presentations, revenue / cost analysis, and other projects requested by senior management. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. The position reports to the Civil FP&A Manager

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Actively involved in the consolidation of monthly forecasting activities of the Civil BusinessAnalyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, operational performance, expenses, and investmentsMonitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected varianceSupports the annual budgeting exercise for CivilSupports the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling tools with actionable insightsDevelop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiativesSupport enhancements to the investment book process through improved allocation and trackingAnalyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposesSupporting Senior Management Team and Regional heads with in-depth analysisAd-Hoc Reporting and AnalysisYearly, Quarterly and Monthly Financial reportsPrepare presentations to Senior Management Team

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance or Accounting, CPA designation or in progress3+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis or a similar role within a large organizationStrong business partnering skills required. Experience in multi-national organization preferredAdvanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivatedDemonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on support capacityBilingual, English and French
