Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
OVERVIEW
This role will support the financial operation of the MSNBC Non-TV businesses (Direct to Consumer, Digital Publishing, Events, and Audio). This role will partner with senior leaders to support day to day priorities and execute various special projects. This role will report to the Director, News Non-TV Finance and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Work closely with the leaders and operational teams of all the MSNBC Non-TV businesses to support their financial needs; provide analytical support to evaluate business decisions, and be an engaged thought partner to help drive growth.
+ Collaborate with other finance teams, and the Versant Research and Strategy teams on special projects focused on growing the MSNBC Non-TV businesses.
+ Own all financial processes for MSNBC Non-TV including annual budgets, long-range strategic plans, in-year financial estimates, and monthly pacings.
+ Create KPI’s, build and manage operational reporting, and actively identify risks and opportunities.
+ Develop strong relationships with department leaders and HR; manage headcount reporting.
+ Support ad hoc projects and requests.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant experience
+ 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting or related field
+ Solid financial modeling skills
+ Solid communication skills with the ability to synthesize data and complex information, and present succinctly to executives and stakeholders at all levels

+ Prior operational finance experience, digital experience a plus.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
