Job Description\nSummary: \nSupport the finance team in Canada by performing a combination of Financial Accounting and Management Reporting activities within the organization. Support the site on a rotational basis in Operations Finance, Commercial Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis and Controllership to assist the teams on specific projects and tasks to deliver outstanding customer feedback. \nEssential Functions: \n•\tParticipate in month end close activities and act as a delegate for key tasks when needed. \n•\tGather documentation for the annual audit and tax review requirements. \n•\tReview and reduce aged payables to improve Paid on Time metrics. \n•\tCreate and update standard operating procedures to ensure consistency across sites. \n•\tAttend and review select inventory cycle counts. \n•\tParticipate in fixed asset counts and assist with the maintenance and clean-up of the fixed asset ledger. \n•\tMonitor and review monthly HST transactions for accuracy and completeness and investigate / correct discrepancies as needed. \n•\tMonitor and review the completeness of labour hours reported for SRED eligible projects. \n•\tAssist the team with the management of inventory and annual standard cost rollover calculations. \n•\tActively participate in tier meetings for either the manufacturing or packaging areas \n•\tDeliver financial and operational performance analysis, including product portfolio, to drive profitability using the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System \n•\tPartner with business unit (BU) area managers to promote financial transparency and accountability. \n•\tDrive BU performance through established metrics (Absorption, Materials Usage Variance, Purchase Price Variance, Direct Labour efficiency) \n•\tUpdate weekly BI reports for overtime, labour efficiency and headcount. \n•\tUpdate weekly & daily revenue & performance trackers. \n•\tWork with BU area managers to understand routings and update when vital. \n•\tComplete actual vs. standard cost reporting by product to drive operational efficiencies. \n•\tAssist with updating monthly cost trackers and labour reports and preparing budget vs. actual variance analysis. \n•\tMaintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards. \n \nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS \n \nEducation: \nHigh school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required \nWorking towards Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance \n \nExperience: \nUniversity Student in Year 3-4 \n \nEquivalency: \nEquivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. \n \nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: \nAbility to prioritize multiple projects, work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of Systems: SAP and Hyperion an asset. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer focus and drive for results with strong problem-solving abilities. Capable of setting clear priorities, organizing work, and making quality decisions. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with the English Language.
