As a Financial Aid Specialist Your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Meet with students and their families to assess financial aid eligibility and explain aid packages.
• Award financial aid packages, initiate disbursements for Direct Loans, Pell Grants, and state funding, and ensure accuracy in student ledgers.
• Verify disbursement records and reconcile fund allocations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Generate daily tuition reports and monitor monthly or trimester-based tuition payments.
• Process student withdrawals, complete Return of Title IV calculations, and ensure proper documentation.
• Conduct exit interviews and guide students through loan counseling procedures upon withdrawal.
• Review Satisfactory Academic Progress evaluations to determine eligibility for federal and state aid.
• Initiate collection processes for overdue accounts as necessary.
• Maintain adherence to Title IV regulations and state grant requirements, including military benefits programs.

Requirements
The ideal Financial Aid Specialist candidate will have:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Title IV Student Financial Aid programs, including Direct Loans, Pell Grants, and state grants.
• Experience administering financial aid packages and campus-based funding programs.
• Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Ellucian Banner, or other financial aid systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Advanced understanding of federal and state aid eligibility requirements.
• Familiarity with academic progress standards and benefit certification processes for individuals with relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively advise students and families.
• Experience with financial aid compliance and documentation processes.
