Job Description

The successful Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing management accounts and reports, providing interpretation of financial data and predictive results. The Financial Accountant will support the Fund Accounting and Operations team with fund administration of various Funds managed by OMAI.

Key Result Areas:

Accountable for the financial reporting and administration of unlisted LP/GP fund structures. Key outputs include:

Financial Reporting

Control and oversight of the GL for Funds & fund structuresPreparation of monthly/Quarterly management accountsManaging and reporting outstanding debtors and creditorsCash management including cash flow forecastsBudgeting, forecasting and reporting to management and shareholdersFee calculations i.e. management fees, carried interest, participation feesIncome Tax calculations and returnsPreparation and review of journalsPreparation and review of bank reconciliationsExpense analysis and reportingResponsible for audit liaison and preparation of annual financial statementsCompliance with tax, legislative and statutory requirementsRespond to reporting requests from external and internal stakeholdersGrowing business and opportunity to streamline processes

Fund Administration

Review Fund Formation Agreements to ensure compliance with reporting obligationsInstruct processing of transactions (Efront, HiPort)Provide financial information for investor communications, including quarterly financial and investor reportingOversight of investor distributions and contribution amounts requiredPreparation of drawdown/distribution noticesMaintenance of investors capital commitment accountsPrepare response to investor queries and adhoc requestsCompliance with Exchange Control requirements where applicableAssist with automation initiatives  Assist with operating systems upgrade testing and developments General support for the operational functions within the team 

Required Qualifications & Proficiencies:

CA (SA)A minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial services, preferably in fund accountingKnowledge of IFRSExposure to tax and VATTechnical knowledgeCommercial knowledge of asset management/alternative asset classes advantageousExperience of GP/LP partnership fund structures beneficialExposure to complex debt instruments beneficialExposure to Unitised fund structures and pricing beneficial
