Job DescriptionSUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
As a Financial Accountant, Global Finance Operations, you will be responsible for day-to-day transactional activities including the creation of credit/debit memos, offsetting, billing cancellations, payment requests, and resolution of blocks. The role involves reviewing and validating requests, coordinating with stakeholders to clarify discrepancies, and resolving customer inquiries. This role collaborates cross-functionally to address issues, supports month-end close activities, and participates in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Financial transactions such as offsetting, creation of credit/ debit memos, cancellation of billing documents, request for payments, removal of blocks, and other tasks related to Accounts Receivable Management.Assists in the month-end close process by ensuring all processing is completed within the allotted timeframe.Responds to inquiries from internal customers related to posting questions and discrepancies.Participates in process improvement projects aimed at improving productivity, quality payment postings.Review and validate requests if needed, communicate with the requestor for clarification and additional information.Request Cloud account set-up, pay site creation, update of bank information, and other refund/ rebate payment related tasks.Coordinate with other team on payment related accruals to be posted in Cloud.Send customer refund requests to designated team.Investigate and resolve inquiries and issues.Post manual journal entry for adjustments.Work cross functionally to resolve issues.QualificationsEducation and Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Business Management, or a related field of study.Atleast 2 years of professional experience in the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Bank Reconciliation function.Industry exposure in Shared Service or Global Business Services setup is highly preferred.Tools, System, Application and Technology Requirements:
Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud or SAP.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.Skills and Competency Requirements:
Knowledgeable in reconciliation processes.Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in reconciliation and reporting.Ability to make clear, logical decisions based on facts, taking into consideration the big picture, long and short – term effects, and exercising sound judgment when handling complaints, confidential and sensitive issues.Ability to deliver consistent positive results through influencing, coordinating, and managing the efforts of others.Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records.Ability to take corrective actions for discrepancies and errors, ensuring accurate records.Ability to effectively multi-task and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment or even in a Work from home set up.Ability to exercise good judgment and handle confidential information.Other Requirements:
