Finance Supervisor

Position Summary: Supervise the overall Banking and Accounting functions of the General Accounting DZ team at the DataZone office. Team activities include multiple account reconciliations, process monitoring, automated and manual journal entries. Partner with internal and external customers to effectively manage services functions with a focus on continuous improvement and building a team with exceptional customer service.
Job Responsibilities: • Perform period end journal entry preparation according with GAAP and company policies. • Perform month-end close analytical review of: Cash over/short banking. • Participate in new rec types trainings with the assigned reconciler and new hires • Timely communicate findings in rec types reviewed. • Guide and coordinate team's development (skills and knowledge), schedule training to increase effectiveness of teams • Coordinates daily activities and month end process, ensure team meets deadlines & deliverables requested per SSC checklist. • Assist with documentation updates, rotation, and cross training to comply with Internal Control procedures • Promote Process Improvement trough each process in Banking and AP areas • Maintain KPI’s per team and per team member • Rec types review and support to Reconcilers: Analyze aged items and review process with reconciler • Coordinates staffing needs due to organic growth and/or personnel turn over • Timely communicate findings in rec types reviewed.
Skills and Requirements: • Level of formal education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent • Area of study: Accounting, Finance or Business Administration • Years of Experience: 4 or more years. • Type of experience: Accounting experience and able to influence people to promote Process Improvement Culture • Special certifications or technical skills: Advance SQL and Microsoft Windows (Excel and Word) skills • Other/preferred: Peoplesoft skills
