Finance Specialist (Spend Management)

This position is responsible for oversight and performance of varied areas of commercial planning, procurement, analysis, reporting, and training for the region/group. Specifically, this position will be the local representative for Spend Management (Coupa/MRM). This position will work closely with US/Canada group/region budget owners, finance, external partners, accounting, IT, Global Business Services (i.e. Corporate Coupa / MRM Process Owners). This position will drive compliance in the area of spend management and will work with teams to promote standardized processes, efficiency and effectiveness.
**What You Can Expect**
+ Region/Group Leader for Spend Management including Coupa and MRM, and monitor the tools for region/group, ensuring effective use and implementation.
+ Spend Management training resource for region/group
+ Responsible for the accurate operation and utilization of Coupa and MRM
+ Provide assistance to SFA on the following (as needed):
+ Region/Group business planning/projection process for brand expense
+ Monthly brand expense accrual process ensuring accurate reflection of spend activity
+ Preparation of journal entries
+ Monthly reporting for brand expense trackers
+ Manage region/group purchase and internal orders for proper reflection in financial records
+ Serve as a resource for region/group to resolve issues related to customer invoices, bill backs, netting, and related customer account reconciliations .
+ Responsible for planning/reconciliation of distributor investment funds (where applicable).
+ Facilitate the efficient invoice workflow for region
+ Assists region/group on spend management reporting
+ Responsible for annual region/group Spend Management training as well as on-boarding new employees for respective region/group.
+ Partner with internal commercial budget owners on proper accounting of spend activities and identifying/resolving inaccurate charges in promotional spend activity.
+ Interacts with Brown-Forman Corporate IT / Global Business Services to resolve system issues and improve operational efficiency, along with partnering on activities / projects.
+ Maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and partners, both internal and external.
+ Coordinate with all regions and GBS to identify opportunities for savings, and provide input on process improvement for planning/procuring goods/services.
**What You Bring to the Table**
+ 2 – 4 years of related work experience; or 9 or more years relevant work experience
+ Demonstrated analytical/mathematical skills.
+ Demonstrated organization, prioritization, and initiative skills in working with multiple projects
+ Knowledge of computer operation and use, with ability to learn systems, including demonstrated competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google and Outlook
+ Demonstrated oral communication skills; ability to formulate response to detailed questions in representing corporate policy/practice within function, comfortable presenting information to internal audiences.
+ Strong relationship management and development skills, ability to work with and influence others at varying levels.
+ Demonstrated written communication skills; ability to compose final draft memos/project reports
+ Personal honesty and integrity
