PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Financial Reporting and Audit team exist to over manage the global statutory audit and consolidated financial statement of World Vision International and ensure a robust internal control environment across the globe, working closely with Global Field Finance, other Finance teams in the Global Centre.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Annual external audit and global financial statement
Assist in the operational management of the year-end close and audit process, including:
The preparation of materials for training and communications year-end reporting process.Assist in preparation and analysis of detailed schedules and workpapers for external audit, based on information from Vision Fund International, Global Field Finance, Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis, Financial Data & Capability and Global Internal Audit teams.Address information requests from auditors, liaising with Field Offices and other stakeholders as appropriate.Consolidate information from entities in the consolidated group for external auditor’s selections.Assist in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements of World Vision International, including:
Collating and consolidating individual reports for subsidiaries and affiliates (including Field Offices, VFI, Global Centre and some Support Offices).Adjusting reports to comply with US-GAAP.Identifying and calculating eliminating entries upon consolidation.Preparation of appropriate disclosure notes.Preparing draft file notes and position papers to document accounting treatment of transactions and disclosures.Provide support to new processes designed to collect information required for new accounting standards, or existing standards where business processes, systems or activities change.Assist with the WVI-WVUS Single Audit and the preparation of the combined financial statements, ensuring completeness and accuracy.Be the subject matter expert on US GAAP and all technical accounting and reporting matters. This includes:
Keeping up to date with all FASB pronouncements and accounting standard changes.Determining their applicability to WVI and assessing the impact to the consolidated financial statements.Liaising with VFI and WVUS to align WVI’s application of changes to accounting standards to ensure a smooth preparation of consolidated and combined financial statements for US government reporting requirements.Updating internal finance policies and procedures to align to changes in US GAAP and accounting standards.Lead projects to roll out application of accounting standard changes across global entities in the Partnership as appropriate.Support a strong internal control environment across the Partnership
Assist in the collation, reporting and analysis of internal audit findings and internal control self-assessments by Partnership offices.Assist (as back-up) in the maintenance of team pages on WV Central to ensure communications to the Partnership via this platform are up to date.Compliance management and other reporting
Assist in preparing compliance reporting for the global consolidated entity, including OECD reporting, statutory reporting, tax filings, government reporting.Liaise with WVUS on the preparation of the financial statements for the WV Pension Fund. Assist to prepare accurate information for the WVI Accountability Report.Assist in the selection of external providers to support compliance management and advisory services for the team.Proactively identify emerging taxation of compliance related issues that may impact the financial operations of WVI and initiate projects to incorporate changes to global processes and practices.Consult and advise on global financial compliance related matters for WVI, including US-GAAP, accounting, financial reporting, liquidity and partnership finance processes and systems.Support accurate Global Centre ledger, P&L and balance sheet
Analyse, monitor the movements in the P&L and balance sheet and ensure these are explainable and that they are accounted for correctly in line with US GAAP, working closely with the accounting team to ensure that reconciling items are resolved and closed as appropriate on a timely basis.Continuously improve processes and practices with a customer focused mindset
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Support, and at times, lead process improvement initiatives.Seek opportunities for automation, improvements in quality and efficiency by utilizing technology (which may include but is not limited to Power BI, MS form, PowerApps, SharePoint, Smartsheet, UI Path etc.).Remain current and increase knowledge in related finance areas utilizing self-study and/or continuing professional education efforts.REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent.Accredited with CPA, Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent professional accounting body.Strong knowledge in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Strong knowledge in external audit and internal controls.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Minimum of 3 years of professional private/corporate accounting work experience or three years in public accounting and external auditing. Work experience in external auditing in a public accounting firm is highly desired.Demonstrates effective computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite, intranet and Internet.Experience in building reporting and utilising data models in PowerBI or similar software to a proficient level.Strong organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.Outstanding stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; adept at influencing and coordinating cross-functional, multi-location teams and subject-matter experts.Learns new software applications and databases quickly—e.g., SunSystems, Provision, Workday, and similar tools.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Applicant Types Accepted:
