About the Role:

The Finance Operations Team Leader specifically sits within Everest’s Insurance division, which has an ambitious long-term growth plan, giving rise to continued expansion throughout its international offering. Everest Insurance (Ireland) dac (“EIID”) provides insurance services across Europe, serving key stakeholders within EIID’s branch network (France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and The United Kingdom) and the wider Everest group.

The Finance Operations Team Leader will report to the Senior Manager Technical Finance Operations and work alongside the wider team in the completion of day-to-day insurance reporting and operation activities, including any projects essential to a high-quality finance delivery in a growth environment.

This position will be based in our Dublin office with a hybrid schedule of working two days remote each week.

Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Manage and support junior team members including review of their output.

Working alongside underwriters/operations/project management team to ensure new products/distribution channels are fully embedded within finance processes in a controlled and scalable manner.

Develop and review reconciliations, ensuring they are completed on a timely basis and outstanding actions are investigated and resolved.

Contribute to systems implementation including impact assessment, process definition and UAT of same.

Developing increased efficiencies and automation in the finance operations processes and collaborating in driving process change and improvements across the finance function.

Contribute to end-to-end process documentation covering key processes to support financial control.

Supporting the internal and external audit teams on operational finance matters.

Working with the tax team and outsource providers to ensure tax submissions e.g. IPT are accurate and submitted on a timely basis.

Working with the treasury team to ensure optimal processes for processing payments with appropriate disbursement controls and for anticipating large receipts or disbursements.

Qualifications:

Professionally qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with post-qualified experience. Preferably within an insurance accounting role.

Strong academic background with a relevant bachelor’s degree.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of Insurance accounting principles.

Highly analytical and detailed, with the ability to step away from detail to see the bigger picture and communicate high-level messages to senior stakeholders.

Solution based problem-solving skills.

Team player with a capability of working on own initiative and willing to help others.

Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload on a continual basis.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop junior staff.
