The Opportunity

Finance Manager is a highly visible mill-based position. It is a crucial member of the Evadale Finance team, partnering directly with mill departments and finance leaders to provide analytical support and drive results. As a Finance Manager, you will work directly with Operations, the Evadale Finance Team, and other Divisional/Corporate departments. The Finance Manager is responsible for assisting in day-to-day tasks, including the financial close and forecasting/budgeting process. They will be a part of the strategy execution, building a winning culture and strong financial performance.

 

Expectations for this role are to be located in our mill in Evadale, TX.

How You Will Impact WestRock:


Provide analytical support to the Mill Operations Team. Partner with the area's team to identify, track, and improve key drivers affecting performance and results.Heavily involved in the mill's month-end close process (includes P&L review, journal entries).Work with belt leaders to track savings targets of Six Sigma projects.  Assist in the development and documentation of processes and procedures to improve the quality of financial analysis and drive stronger ownership and accountability of results.Active involvement in the forecasting and budgeting process, strong emphasis on holding departmental managers accountable for results, and driving profitability.Support the monthly closing process by providing a financial review and analysis of location-level P&L and Balance sheet to be able to provide leadership with a clear understanding of operational events impacting the overall results. Review usage trends, income statement, and balance sheet balances to ensure accuracy before the final close, and work with the Controllership team to provide a combined approach that ensures financial completeness and accuracy.Provide analytical support for both capital and financial accounting.Develop and maintain documentation of internal controls applicable to the assigned functional areas.Coordinate with internal and external auditors as needed.Responsible for providing support with operational productivity tracking and metrics.

 

What You Need to Succeed

A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is required. Ideally in Finance.5+ years’ work experience including some background in FP&A, experience in manufacturing accounting/finance preferred.Demonstrated skill and comfort in building financial models and extracting actionable data.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail & accuracy, passion for improvement, and desire to work in a team/collaborative environment.Strong Microsoft skills (Excel); previous HFM, Essbase, or similar required; JD Edwards a plus; experience with automation & visualization tools highly preferred.Solid written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact credibly and diplomatically with multiple levels in the organization. Ability to multitask and perform at a high level in a demanding, fast-paced environment.Must possess the potential and desire to advance to leadership roles.Ability to adapt to a high-paced work environment, balancing routine responsibilities with ad hoc requests and stringent deadlines.
