Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to join the XCM (Cross-Channel Marketing) Finance team. XCM is Amazon’s largest Fixed Marketing team, with a vision to be the most culturally and contextually aware, creatively breakthrough, and effective marketing organization in the world. XCM has produced some of Amazon’s most recognised TV, Radio, Print and Out of Home advertising, including Amazon’s annual Holiday and Superbowl advertisements! The XCM team owns the execution of Amazon’s global mass marketing and branding campaigns to strengthen the Amazon brand, surprise and delight our customers, whilst also reducing the overall cost of Amazon’s marketing efforts. The XCM Finance team works hand in hand with our XCM business partners to provide the financial and analytical insights to achieve these objectives.
This position offers a unique opportunity to drive financial planning and strategic initiatives for Amazon's Fixed Marketing organization across Japan and Rest of World (ROW) marketplaces. The role combines hands-on financial management of Japan's Fixed Marketing portfolio with strategic oversight of ROW XCM financial processes. You will partner with senior leadership, multiple Category teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape marketing investment strategies, drive financial controllership, and enable data-driven decision making. This role requires both depth in single marketplace management (Japan) and breadth in handling multi-marketplace consolidation (ROW), making it an ideal position for someone who excels at building partnerships and driving results across complex organizational structures.
The successful candidate will be passionate about numbers and influencing people. They will be analytical, detail oriented, data driven, and be able to effectively partner with stakeholders in other Finance, Marketing and Measurement teams. We are looking for someone who is highly analytical, resourceful, customer focused, team oriented, and has the ability to work independently under time constraints. Candidates will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to earn trust with others, and experience of working in matrixed organizations.
Key job responsibilities
• Japan Fixed Marketing:
o Lead annual and quarterly planning process for Japan Fixed Marketing, coordinating across Amazon's Cross-Channel Marketing (XCM) and Category Management teams
o Partner with Portfolio teams to prepare and present business performance reviews to senior leadership, including Operating Plan (OP), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), and Monthly Financial Reviews (MFR)
o Own financial controllership of Japan Fixed Marketing budgets through budget management, variance analysis, purchase order oversight, and forecast updates based on business performance
o Act as strategic connector between Global XCM Finance and Japan Fixed Marketing to implement global marketing frameworks, share best practices, and drive alignment between Japan and global initiatives
o Build and maintain strategic partnerships with multiple Category Management teams to facilitate comprehensive marketing strategies and enable effective coordination between Central Marketing and Category teams
o Develop and present strategic analysis and recommendations to senior leadership on key business initiatives
• Rest of World (ROW) XCM:
o Manage consolidated annual and quarterly budget planning process for ROW XCM teams, ensuring alignment with overall budget targets and resolving variances
o Coordinate with ROW XCM business and finance teams to compile and synthesize performance commentary for worldwide Fixed Marketing reviews (MFR/QFR)
o Partner with ROW marketplace teams to drive adoption and understanding of central marketing frameworks and best practices
