Description

Role is designed for Juniors or Seniors who can dedicate a full Fall Semester (2026) to intern with Baylor Scott and White.  We are targeting candidates who want exposure to the inner workings of healthcare finance.  We are targeting candidates local to the Plano location (or don't need relocation/travel accommodations).  You could opt for night classes or virtual classes while interning, but the internship schedule would be traditional office hours, Monday-Friday onsite at the Plano campus.  

This is a paid internship $16-24/hr.  We hope to have Offers to candidates by mid April 2026 so you can make adjustments for Fall Semester.  

Job Summary

The Intern focuses on learning and works under supervision. They perform administrative and specific activities with team members. This role exposes them to various functional operations. They are involved in projects supporting departmental needs and developmental goals.

Essential Functions of the Role

Provides functional-area support in accordance with instructions and established procedures.Gains knowledge and experience as projects are assigned and completed.Learns to anticipate or identify problems and proactively works to solve them.Uses meetings and trainings as an opportunity to learn how to function successfully in the department.As needed, asks clarifying questions and communicates promptly and effectively with others.

Able to provide consistently excellent customer service with empathy, patience and confidence.Interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with patients and staff.Able to establish and maintain effective professional relationships across organizational lines.Able to communicate thoughts clearly; both verbally and in writing.Able to research, examine and disseminate information.Basic computer skills, including but not limited to: typing, information security, electronic medical documentation, handheld scanning and email.

EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED EquivalentEXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
