Finance Director, Commercial & Marketing

Marketing business partner

Lead team and partner with marketing teams to plan, control and optimize A&P expenses. In close liaison with marketing teams, key responsibilities are:Support brand performance reviewStudy new product launch opportunitiesReview and evaluate marketing activitiesPrepare business cases, in line with company growth strategyMonitor marketing spending (budget allocation, spending review)

In cooperation with Pricing team, evaluate products’ value chain and stakeholders’ profitability to support marketing in recommending RSP, PP, LPP.

Commercial business partner

Lead HQ & Region commercial business analysis teams to follow branch/BU profitability. Plan and Control of trade expenses by contract/channel/divisionSupport commercial negotiations with recommendations on contract structure, discount depth, volume targets in order to optimize profitability, fairness vs. benchmark, and minimize GMA risksAnalyze with sales teams actual performance of intake/offtake and thus support Wholesale management team in Sell-in/sell-out controlLead the regional finance teams across China, to monitor the company performance locally and ensure the local implementation of company’s strategic decisionsAs leading finance contact person, participate in the evaluation of growth opportunity studies like new customer, new route-to-market initiatives, wholesaler delayering, innovation projectsLead Promotional evaluation project:Design and adapt ways of workingImplement in all channelsImprove transparency and planning of promotional costs and volume effectsMonitor implementation of Activation evaluation methodologyEnsure each activation has measurable KPIs Challenge marketing and trade marketing evaluationsParticipate in future activations recommendations depending on purpose and efficiencyLead and monitor the implementation of nationwide commercial projects like new Contract Index, Falcon, Dolphin, etc.Initiate, drive and Implement new processes to increase the transparency of Trade expenses Monitor overall spending vs. budget and vs. previous benchmark, provide necessary workable recommendation and insight to key stakeholders

Monitor nationwide business and financial performance

Drive the regional business review process in liaison with PR China top management and with the regional teamsConsolidate the bottom-up financial forecast (topline and A&Ps)In cooperation with FP&A team, manage gaps between bottom-up and top-down forecasting exercisesIn cooperation with FP&A and accounting teams, manage the company’s financial closing exercises for topline and A&Ps, P&L and balance sheet (accruals methodologies, POs back-up, trade inventory assumptions…) and be the key point of contact to auditors to defend company’s statements.Manage business performance monitoring tools and responsible for improvement of analytical capacity within the organization Implement and strengthen financial indicators used by sales teamsContinuously review and enhance processes to meet the management information needs

Finance and business innovation project management

Be a key actor in Finance 4.0 modernization and Beyond Budget projectsCo-lead company’s Collaborative Business planning workstreamLead and implement the rebuilt of bottom-up financial planning and review processes for rolling 18month by channel/geography/portfolio, which is the base and one truth of future financial reporting to the group. Lead the thinking of cascading Market Co mandates to business teams so that all teams are clear on business goals and contribute to the right strategic directions that delivers our three-year growth equations. Lead finance projects in order to improve company’s efficiency and compliance, both for Trade and Marketing expenses, in liaison with various departments across the company (sales, marketing, logistics, accounting, communication, legal…)Further optimize current processes and ways of working by leveraging our newly implemented digital toolsAdd value to business innovation projects, provide necessary financial insight and analysis to key stakeholders

Team management and development

Develop a highly competent and committed CoE and BPA team to become a trusted partner in value creation for the CompanyDevelop the teams towards more adding value roles, further than the necessary controlling roleFoster and develop team member’s leadership ability, business acumen, financial knowledge and skills through effective on-job coaching and advising
