Your Role:
As the Finance Director, Automotive Europe, you are responsible for financial strategy and execution in the European Business Unit within Stanley Automotive. You will partner cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and engineering teams to define, refine, and execute the business’s strategic and operating plans. Additionally, you will act as the Managing Director for the local German business, providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure the business unit's alignment with corporate objectives.
What You Will Be Doing…
Partner directly with VP Sales & Europe leadership team to develop, refine and execute short- and long-term business objectives.
Provide strategic leadership and direction as Managing Director, ensuring the business unit's alignment with corporate objectives.
Drive transparency of financial results and outlook throughout the matrix organization, including understanding and communicating reasons for variance to plan/budget, and driving actions to achieve financial commitments.
Lead your direct team, develop and implement tools to enhance the processes for the Short Range Outlook, month end closing, ad-hoc analysis, Strategic Plan, Quarterly Reviews, and Annual Budget (i.e. NPI/New Business, Operating Margin Walks, Price & Margin Mgmt, Volume, Management of Productivity Projects, etc).
Manage working capital to optimize cashflow, with a focus on cash collections.
Partner with Leadership to drive price & margin management, cost reduction and working capital initiatives, initiate such discussions with foresight of business conditions.
Coordinate monthly closing process with operations finance and controllership teams. Maintain closing rhythms to ensure on time completion and present results to management.
Drive effective strategic plan and budget processes, aligning Department Leaders with business financial strategy.
Support and consistently communicate with the Business Controllers, Sales Leaders and Department Managers.
Develop associates within the Automotive Europe Finance team, providing opportunities to learn and grow in their career.
Partner with BPOs to support implementation of SAP
Who You Are…
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or another related field
Demonstrated senior-level experience in finance, including leadership roles in manufacturing industries.
Results-oriented with a track record of working capital reduction, cost control, and operational productivity.
Strong influencing and presentation skills; ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.
Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, across all functions, generate solutions/recommendations to issues before topic is presented to management
Demonstrated history of process improvement and optimization
Strong working knowledge of ERP and Financial reporting systems, experience with SAP and XPPS a plus
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; understanding of data and experience with deploying advanced data tools (Power BI, Alteryx, etc) a significant plus
Independent self-starter with ability to multi-task in a highly energetic, fast-paced environment
Exceptional relationship builder with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties
High level of personal integrity and credibility, with a commitment to leading by example.
Fluent in English; proficiency in German.
