Position Summary The SB Dean’s Office oversees all school programs, centers, operations, and finances, including an annual operating budget of $24.3 million from Education & General funds and substantial donor contributions. The Finance Coordinator position is a 12-month classified appointment reporting directly to the Senior Fiscal Officer (SFO).

This role, in collaboration with the SFO, assists in managing the School of Business’s financial transactions, reporting, and related administrative functions. Key responsibilities include processing and tracking purchase orders, invoices, contracts, reimbursements, travel requests, and vendor payments; serving as P-card custodian/business manager; and ensuring compliance with university and foundation policies. The position also analyzes financial data, prepares reports, monitors budgets, and maintains accurate account records. Additionally, it supports contract administration and HR functions such as preparing offer letters, creating job postings, and providing new hire paperwork and instructions to all SB new hires. Other duties include staying up to date on relevant policies and procedures and assisting with special projects to support the school’s evolving needs. As university and school policies and procedures continue to evolve, the role’s responsibilities may also change. Flexibility and adaptability are essential. Minimum Qualifications from Classification - Bachelor’s degree with CPA or PA certificate; OR

- Bachelor’s degree with 30 quarter (20 semester) hours of college-level Accounting, OR

- 30 quarter (20 semester) hours of Accounting courses AND three years of Accounting experience.

Accounting experience must include at least 3 of the following:

- Preparing transactions to be recorded in records of original entry;

- Preparing journal entries, posting from journals to general ledger, or preparing original general ledger entries;

- Summarizing data from a ledger to a trial balance;

- Closing accounts at the end of an accounting period;

- Applying PC spreadsheet, database, and word processing software;

- Processing data using a computer. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position Exceptional attention to detail: Meticulous in reviewing, verifying, and ensuring the accuracy of complex financial and HR data. Collaborative spirit: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, participate in cross-training, and provide backup support as needed. Discretion and confidentiality: Proven ability to handle sensitive financial and HR information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism. Organizational, time management, and communication skills: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain organized financial and HR records in a fast-paced environment. Specific Software Experience: Proficiency in Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel for data tracking, analysis, and reporting. Independent Work and Policy Application: Demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage priorities efficiently, and accurately interpret and apply financial policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify discrepancies, reconcile accounts, and recommend process improvements. Experience in Higher Education: Demonstrated experience working within the financial and administrative frameworks of higher education. Proficiency with Complex Financial Software: Demonstrated experience using large-scale financial management software for transaction processing, reporting, and analysis.

Work Days/Hours Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, In Person Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting annual salary rate for this position will be between $24.27 and $27.92. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
