Play a pivotal role in supporting the Regional Controller model BMS has built.

Be responsible for overseeing financial operations and providing strategic financial guidance for a country or a group of countries.

Actively participate in various activities including:

Managing financial activities within a designated market or a cluster of countriesOverseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance with relevant regulations and corporate policiesMaintaining accurate financial records, analysing financial performance, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting decision-making processesLead the development and execution of the strategy, governance, end-to-end processes, by ensuring compliance with all local laws and regulations

Key Responsibilities

Lead financial operations within the designated country/group of countries, ensuring accurate recording of transactions, adherence to accounting principles, and compliance with regulatory standardsManage the monthly close processEstablish a continuous improvement program to improve effectiveness and efficiencyCollaborate with other finance functions, such as Tax, Treasury, and Corporate Finance, as well as global enabling functions to ensure alignment and consistency in financial processesOversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to maintain accurate financial recordsMaintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting, as well escalate market issues requiring updates to the existing controlsCoordinate and support internal/external auditsProvide input and final sign-off for Statutory Financials, ensuring compliance with local accounting standardsSupport above market teams, including Tax, Payroll, General Accounting, Accounts Payable, ensuring compliance with local and corporate requirements,

Senior leaders from various key Finance organizations – Corporate, Controller, Commercialization Finance, GPSCorporate and in-market Finance, FDs and local team membersSteering Committees and Advisory BoardsAbove market teams supporting Tax, Payroll, General Accounting, Accounts Payable etc

Key Requirements

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred and / or CA/CPA equivalent preferred.

Experience

10 plus years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in financial management leadership rolesFinance experience within the pharmaceutical industry preferred

Competencies

Experience in financial management roles requiredLeadership skills to define and drive strategic business visionExtensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory complianceFluency in written and spoken English; another language relevant to the supported country(s) would be an advantageEffective relationship management skillsAdaptability and ability to manage change Customer-first mindsetStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to drive collaboration with senior leaders

Familiarity with SAP and Oracle (Hyperion)Workiva

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
