The Finance Business Partner will play a key role in building the end-to-end processes to drive insights and analysis to enhance Reference Labs financial performance outside of North America. This position will support financial planning, analysis, and performance reporting while providing compelling business insights to optimize resource allocation and support key initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in driving simplicity from the complex, navigating diverse sets of data, and an ability to create new reporting insights focused on the needs of the business vs. purely supporting financial reporting cycles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Financial Management:
Support the financial business partnering for laboratory operations, creating the proper end to end process to report financial performance metrics, analyze cost structures, and track capital expenditures.Provide accurate and timely insights and information to key stakeholders, being a catalyst for change by bringing the outside in, having a financial perspective, and effectively framing issues.Navigate complex data sources being modern to the times by empowering the use of digital tools, working cross functionally, and visualizing data/providing story telling in an engaging way. Drive the finance digital agenda – moving from reporting to planning and insights.Assist the business to ensure proper project-specific financial planning, including ROI analysis, cost management, and resource allocation decisions.Responsibility for the preparation of Year-End Estimate financial forecasts for the business. Analysis and review will include reconciliation to both Plan and prior year, as well as clear identification of potential risks and opportunities facing the business that is served. Leverage communication and storytelling skills to provide a clear link between the business drivers to the financial performance of the business. Must be able to go “beyond the figures”.Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for international laboratory operations.Support the development of new financial models to evaluate areas of waste, opportunities for improvement, and to guide the initiatives to drive financial performance of the laboratory teams.Support and partner closely with laboratory leadership to define and track project budgets and operational forecasts, ensuring fiscal discipline.Support long term planning (3+ years) collaborating with key business stakeholders and partners for the reference lab business.Cost Management and Optimization:
Identify, quantify and track the implementation of cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiency opportunities.Conduct comprehensive cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the financial impact of projects, new technologies, and process improvements.Communicate capital asset planning to relevant parties based on the long-term property strategy/annual budgets determined by Industrial Engineering and Engineering.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with a diverse set of cross functional teams in the areas of operations, manufacturing, engineering, and R&D to create valuable insights and analyses.Work collaboratively with the broader finance team regionally (EU/APAC) as well as globally to facilitate standardized processes, enhanced communication, and drive clarity on ways of working. This includes providing an overview of business performance, insights behind the data, and identifying key actions for the regions.Be an active member of the SDx finance team and participate in high performing team collaboration. Foster a broader network across finance within Mars to drive regional capability building and sharing of best practices.Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.Proactively identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate potential impacts on the organization.Actively uphold the company’s commitment to integrity and ethical conduct, ensuring alignment with organizational values and standards. Every associate has the responsibility to raise concerns, ask questions, and report violations of policies or standards, contributing to a culture of accountability and trust.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance or business analysis. Finance Business partnership experience preferred.High proficiency in financial modeling and advanced analytics.Expertise in leveraging ERP systems and financial tools, as well as proficiency with MS Office applications.REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
