Location: This is a hybrid position located at our Corporate Office in East Jordan, Michigan.
SUMMARY
The Finance Assistant is responsible for executing daily and monthly finance tasks with a primary focus on accounts payable. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple systems and processes, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Consistently meet or exceed departmental and company goals.
+ Accurately enter data into multiple accounting and financial systems.
+ Process weekly vendor payments via ACH, check, credit card, and wire transfer.
+ Learn and navigate various systems and processes while multitasking effectively.
+ Maintain focus and meet all daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
+ Communicate professionally with suppliers, purchasing agents, and internal departments via email, phone, and in person.
+ Collaborate effectively as a team member.
+ Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Assist with special projects and other accounting functions as needed.
+ Identify and contribute to process improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
+ High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelors degree in accounting or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
+ Prior experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role is preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
+ Ability to read and interpret instructions and correspondence from various systems and sources.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to present information clearly to managers, clients, and vendors.
COMPUTER SKILLS
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet navigation.
+ Ability to learn and use department-specific software and systems (e.g., ERP, banking platforms, supplier portals).
