Job Description

The Finance and Accounting Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of finance professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely execution of accounting processes. This role involves supervising daily operations, reviewing financial data, ensuring adherence to KPIs and SLAs, and supporting audits and process improvements. Ideal candidates have strong leadership skills, a solid background in accounting principles, and experience with ERP systems.

Job Summary:

 

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance and Accounting Team Leader to oversee daily operations within the finance department. This role is responsible for supervising a team of accounting professionals, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and timely execution of financial processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Lead, coach, and support a team of finance and accounting staff in their daily tasks.
  •  Ensure timely and accurate completion of general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and monthly closing processes.
  •  Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and/or fixed assets functions, depending on business needs.
  •  Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the team.
  •  Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, ensuring team meets SLA and quality targets.
  •  Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  •  Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process standardization and automation.
  •  Assist in the preparation of financial statements, forecasts, and budgets.
  •  Act as a point of contact between the finance department and other departments or external stakeholders.

 

Requirements:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
  •  3+ years of experience in finance or accounting, including 1+ year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  •  Strong knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS or US GAAP).
  •  Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  •  Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  •  Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  •  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  •  Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  •  Experience in a shared services or BPO environment.
