The Finance Analyst for Leica Biosystems is responsible for transforming financial figures into clear actionable dashboards and provide insights to support strategic decision making. This role will collaborate with cross functional teams to produce details analysis that reveals trends and identify improvement opportunities hence requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.   

Location: This position is part of the Finance Department located in Mount Waverley and will be on-site. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Finance team and report to the Site Controller responsible for financial planning & analysis, compliance controls & month end accounting, Inventory & costing and Financial systems support. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Budgeting & Forecasting: Support business functions in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing analysis of key metrics, ensuring clarity of outputs and actionsFinancial Analysis: Analyze financial and operational data to provide actionable insights, monitor and evaluate financial performance against budget and forecasts.Business Partnership: Collaborate with R&D project teams, Procurement & Operations Value stream managers on all expense management.Month End: Support Financial month end accounting close activities: standing journals, FX Reval, accruals, Fixed assets, E&O and close cycles etc, including variance analysis. Maintain Balance Sheet accounts to ensure data integrity for reporting and audit obligations.Audit & Compliance: Support the yearly audit engagements (Internal & External), including preparation and collection of all documents, updating audit portals and sample testing as required.Costing Support: Manage inventory costings, BMC calculations and support the bi-annual standard costing process.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fieldCPA/CA qualified with at least 5 years’ experience in financial management, planning and associated processes within a manufacturing and R&D environmentThe Finance Analyst will have experience of working in a complex environment with strong analytical skills and excellent stakeholder management skills.Experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment is highly regarded.Experience in large finance ERPs, ideally in SAP.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders across all levels and develop strong working relationships.
