Collins Aerospace is looking for a **Final Inspector / First Article Inspector** to play a pivotal role in ensuring AS9100 compliance, conducting first article inspections, performing quality data analysis, and providing expertise in reading manufacturing drawings and using dimensional measuring devices. We are seeking an individual with a passion for precision, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to energize the team towards quality excellence. This position is responsible for performing detailed inspections using a variety of methods, including Optical Comparators and standard measurement equipment. The ideal candidate is skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, applying GD&T principles, and has a strong background in dimensional inspection. You are expected to complete all safety training in a timely manner. **What You Will Do** + Ensure adherence to AS9100 standards throughout the manufacturing process, conducting regular audits and assessments to guarantee compliance. + Perform detailed part inspections using GD&T principles. + Log and maintain accurate inspection data for traceability and reporting purposes. + Train other team members in using GD&T principles. + Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives as needed. + Perform detailed first article inspections, verifying that products meet specified requirements and regulatory standards before mass production. + Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure accurate execution of procedures, providing guidance and support to maintain quality standards. + Serve as an expert in interpreting and understanding manufacturing drawings. + Utilize dimensional measuring devices, including calipers, micrometers, and other tools, to verify product dimensions and tolerances. + Provide training to manufacturing personnel on proper procedures, reading drawings, and using dimensional measuring devices effectively. + Conduct data analysis and report performance for maintaining and developing new systems and approaches in coordination with the quality management system. + Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or management. + Work overtime or weekends as required. + This position requires successful completion of a post-offer vision examination to assess visual acuity and color vision annually. **Qualifications You Must Have** + Typically requires a High School diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. + Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access. + Experience in reading/interpreting drawings, blueprints and/or specifications + Experience of GD&T principles and their application in inspection. + Experience in quality inspection, preferably with First Article Inspection and final inspection tasks **Qualifications We Prefer** + Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector, GD&T certification) preferred + Experience in Aerospace or similarly regulated industries. + Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP systems. + Availability to work overtime or weekends as required. The salary rate for this role is $46,592 USD to $87,386 USD. The salary rate provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
