About This Opportunity:

At Ericsson, we believe that great design enables great performance. As a Radio Enclosure Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing high-reliability, high-performance mechanical solutions that protect and enable our cutting-edge radio products. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to create mechanical designs that meet stringent requirements for thermal performance, structural integrity, manufacturability, and environmental protection — all while contributing to global wireless network innovation.

This is your chance to shape the look, feel, and durability of the next generation of Ericsson radio units used by operators worldwide.

What You Will Do:

Design and develop mechanical enclosures for outdoor and indoor radio products, including housing, frames, mounting brackets, and protective featuresEnsure mechanical design meets thermal, structural, ingress protection (IP), EMC shielding, and other system-level requirementsPerform detailed 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation using CAD tools (e.g., Creo, CATIA, or equivalent)Conduct simulations and analysis (thermal, structural, vibration) to validate design performanceCollaborate with cross-functional teams including RF, hardware, thermal, reliability, and manufacturing engineersSupport prototyping, design reviews, testing, and transition to mass productionDrive continuous improvement in product robustness, weight reduction, cost efficiency, and ease of assemblyEnsure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., RoHS, IP65/IP66, telecom site requirements)

What you will do Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related fieldSolid experience in mechanical design for electronic or communication equipment (preferably telecom, automotive, or industrial sectors)Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and drawing tools (e.g., Creo, CATIA, or SolidWorks)Knowledge of materials (metals, plastics, coatings) and manufacturing processes (die casting, extrusion, injection molding, CNC, etc.)Familiar with simulation tools for thermal and structural analysis (e.g., ANSYS, FloEFD, or Icepak)Good understanding of design for manufacturability, environmental sealing, and thermal managementStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and ability to work in global, cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with telecom product enclosure design (especially outdoor radios or base stations)Familiarity with environmental and reliability testing (e.g., HALT/HASS, IP, vibration)Experience working with ODMs, suppliers, or EMS partners
