Essential Job Functions: As a Field Technician Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' systems and equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include:
On-Site Support: Provide on-site field support to customers, including installation, servicing, and repairing systems and equipment. Verify and approve the operational quality of system equipment to ensure optimal performance.Issue Resolution: Resolve customer issues related to hardware installation, repair, upgrade, and maintenance. Assist in investigating and resolving complex installations and maintenance matters of significance, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.Customer Training: Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of systems and equipment. Educate them on best practices to enhance their understanding and usage of technology.Referral and Troubleshooting: Ensure issues are referred to the appropriate personnel or service areas for follow-up, testing, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with other team members to provide timely and effective solutions.Physical Requirements: Ability to walk and stand for several hours while performing duties. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions.Client Interaction: Interact with the client's engineers to gather information, design changes, requirements, etc., to compile information for the overall solution design. Act as a liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.Analysis and Reporting: Perform analysis and prepare reports on system problem trends and issues. Provide insights and recommendations to improve system performance and reliability.Basic Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.Experience: 1-2 years of service desk or field support experience. Experience working with the company's hardware, software, and equipment products is essential.Technical Skills: Knowledge of ServiceNOW and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with VPN clients and encryption is beneficial but not mandatory.Other Qualifications: In addition to the basic qualifications, the ideal candidate will have:
Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and other unit personnel. Ability to build positive relationships and provide excellent customer service.Problem-Solving: Good analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.Communication: Strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly and concisely.Time Management: Good time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Self-Motivation: Good self-motivation and self-management skills to work independently and as part of a team.Advanced Degree: An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.Location: Willingness to work onsite at the Thief River Falls, MN Client Site.Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the requirement of sponsorship.Background Check: Background check required.Work Environment: This role is based in a manufacturing plant environment and may require:
Weekend and Holiday Work: Flexibility to work during weekends and holidays as needed.Shift Work: Availability to work afternoon and midnight shifts, depending on operational requirements.Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $39,800 - $65,000.Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
