Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team in Orange City, FL. This role involves performing inspections and investigations in various field conditions to collect high-quality data that helps the environment. The position offers the opportunity to work independently, in a professional engineering firm where you can develop technical skills and contribute to environmentally beneficial projects.
ResponsibilitiesPerform field inspections and investigations by collecting high-quality and accurate data.Conduct manhole inspections, recording structure attributes and identifying defects.Conduct smoke tests and record any defects encountered.Measure wastewater flows during non-peak usage through night flow isolations.Conduct dye testing, including dye water tracing and dye water flooding.Install and maintain open channel flow metering equipment for flow monitoring.Work in confined spaces, including sanitary sewer manholes.Perform tasks involving extensive walking outside through varied terrain in extreme weather conditions.Essential SkillsHigh School diploma or GED is required.Ability to travel as needed.Willingness to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines.Ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification.Basic computer skills.Good technical skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious skilled trade experience preferred but not required.Mechanical/technical aptitude is a plus.Trades background or experience in surveying and SUE Tech roles is beneficial.Comfortable working outside for extended periods.Ability to adapt quickly to project changes or location shifts.Work Environment
This role involves working outdoors, requiring extensive walking through various terrains in extreme heat and cold. The work is performed independently, with tasks assigned and reasonable timelines provided. The environment encourages innovation and supports professional development. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
