Department OverviewThe US Federal Governments Markets Division is chartered with being the premier, compliant supplier of world-class communications solutions to the U.S. Federal Government by providing the highest quality products, systems and services. The USFGMD will achieve this with a professional, well-trained, diverse work force creating a positive and profitable customer relationship resulting in Total Customer Satisfaction and growth of our business. The Federal Systems Technology department of the USFGMD is responsible for service supporting a charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the US Federal Government. As a USFGMD Systems Technologist, you will be exposed to a wide variety of communications requirements in both the Presale and Post Sale phases of a project. These applications span the entire breadth of the US Federal Government throughout the world.
Job Description
Field Engineer (FE) is responsible for providing technical support to customers on their installed base of radio equipment and systems. The FE will provide advice, guidance, troubleshooting and other technical assistance to dealers, customers, distributors, and sales staff on all aspects of our product portfolio. This role covers 2-way Radio, Wave Pager, and RFID solutions including onsite programming, commissioning, installation, maintenance, configuration, and testing of Motorola products in accordance with industry standards. In addition, this position includes network planning & optimization, site surveys, bench repair, refurbishment of equipment, network management, project management, and training of customer’s personnel. The role may include on call roster and will require some travel and overnights stays as well as occasional work at height.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English
Experience working with Microsoft Office Applications
Working knowledge & demonstration of hardware and software tools available for both Radio Frequency (RF) and Networking equipment
Prior experience working in a technical role supporting customers with two way radios would be ideal
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, submittals, specifications and other construction documents.
Ability to lead meetings, provide updates, and present material to various audiences
The position is located in Italy, working on US payroll.
A condition of continued employment with Motorola is the candidate's ability to receive a security clearance from the U.S. Government and any certifications required for the position that you are being hired for with Motorola
Must have a valid U.S. Passport, U.S. driver's license
Must be willing to travel up to 75%
Basic Requirements
Required Skills:
High school diploma, Technical Certificate, or Bachelor's Degree
Must have 3 years of Radio Frequency (RF) experience & at least 2 + years of Networking (Wide and Local Area Networks) experience, and one or more Comp TIA Network+, Security+, MCSE, CISSP required.
Must complete the standard form questionnaire that has 86 questions for national security positions required.
